Restore Scotland is a Scottish political party, which was founded in 2020 on the 700th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath.

The party stands for Scottish independence from the United Kingdom and European Union; the defence of individual liberty; the value and integrity of the family; the sanctity of human life; and, the health and wellbeing of the nation. 

Membership of the party is open to all those who share most or all of the party’s positions, who are or have been resident in Scotland, and are UK citizens.

David McHutchon

For Banffshire and Buchan Coast and North East Scotland Region

David is a graduate of the University of St Andrews with a Masters degree in Russian Studies, and was formerly Deputy Head of Research for NIS Kazakhstan. He is currently developing an ecommerce startup project, and works in the meat processing industry in the North East of Scotland. He is married with four children.


Ewan Gurr

For Dundee City West and North East Scotland Region

Ewan is an anti-poverty campaigner and columnist based in Dundee. In his previous role at the Trussell Trust he established food banks in every local authority area in Scotland. Ewan’s activism in Dundee food bank was featured on the Channel 4 programme ‘Secret Millionaire’.


Brian Nugent

For Shetland and Highlands and Islands Region

Brian is married with three grown-up children. His family have lived in Hamanvoe, Burra for almost 30 years. He is a bank (relief) hospital porter and volunteer at Shetland food bank. Brian was previously a lecturer at Shetland College and EIS FELA trades union Secretary. He supports Albion Rovers and acts as their club historian.


Andrew MacDonald

For Inverness and Nairn and Highlands and Islands Region

Andrew Ross MacDonald is a local businessman, Chair of the Inverness Taxi Alliance and a longtime independence campaigner. He was for many years a member of the Scottish National Party and held office at Branch, Constituency and National level. A passionate believer in Sovereign Independence for Scotland he left the SNP in 1990 believing that the Party was in betrayal of their own Constitution by advocating “Independence” in Europe.
